First session & FAQs

What a first session is like

Starting counselling can feel uncertain. We usually begin with a free 15-minute introductory call so you can ask questions and get a sense of how I work. If we continue, sessions last 50 minutes. You set the pace — you don’t need the perfect words.

Do I need to know what’s wrong before I start?

No. Many people arrive feeling stuck, anxious or unsure how to explain things. We can begin wherever you are.

What happens in the free 15-minute call?

A short, no-obligation conversation about what’s bringing you to counselling, whether working together might be a good fit, and any practical questions about fees, online or Rochester sessions.

How much do sessions cost?

50-minute sessions are £50 in person on Rochester High Street, or £40 online or by telephone. A limited number of reduced-fee spaces may be available.

Where do sessions happen?

In person in a private room on Rochester High Street, or online by video / by telephone across the UK. Clients often travel from across Medway (including Chatham, Gillingham and Strood).

Is this urgent support?

This practice is not an emergency service. If you need help right now, contact Samaritans on 116 123 or NHS 111.

How do I get in touch?

Use the contact form on the website, email kane@kaneharriscounselling.co.uk, or call 07720665865. I aim to reply within one working day.
