You don’t have to have it all figured out.

Sometimes it can be difficult to explain exactly what’s wrong. You might feel anxious, overwhelmed, low, stuck, or simply unlike yourself.

Perhaps you’re struggling with relationships, addiction or recovery, experiences from the past, low self-esteem, or thoughts and feelings that are difficult to make sense of.

Counselling can give you the time to slow things down, explore what you're experiencing without judgement, and begin to understand what may be happening beneath the surface.

You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what to say. We can start wherever you are.

About Me

Hi, I’m Kane

I’m a qualified integrative counsellor and a registered member of the BACP, offering counselling in Rochester, Kent, as well as online and by telephone.

My own experience of counselling played an important part in why I chose this work. I spent several years in counselling myself, so I understand what it can feel like to sit on the other side of the conversation and how important it is to find someone you genuinely feel comfortable talking to.

That experience sparked my interest in understanding people more deeply and ultimately led me to train as a counsellor. I went on to complete a BSc (Hons) in Counselling at the University of East London.

Since then, I’ve gained experience supporting people within a residential alcohol rehabilitation setting, working with addiction and recovery, emotional distress and complex personal challenges. These experiences have reinforced for me that everyone brings their own story to counselling, and that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all way of working.

Away from counselling, I enjoy spending time with the people close to me, getting outdoors and making time for the things that help me switch off and recharge.

Above all, I believe counselling should feel like a genuine human conversation, somewhere you can be yourself, speak openly and explore what matters to you at your own pace.

How I Work

Counselling that adapts to you.

I don’t believe there is one way of counselling that works for everyone. As an integrative counsellor, I tailor the way we work to your needs, what you’re experiencing and what you hope to gain from counselling.

Understanding yourself

A space to explore what you’re thinking and feeling without judgement or pressure to have everything worked out. Together, we can begin to understand what may be happening for you and what you need from counselling.

Making sense of patterns

Sometimes it can be helpful to look at earlier experiences, relationships or recurring patterns and consider how they may still be influencing how you feel, think or relate to others today.

Finding your way forward

We can explore different ways of responding to difficult thoughts, feelings or situations, while considering what matters to you, the choices available to you and how you would like to move forward.

My integrative approach draws on person-centred, psychodynamic, CBT and existential counselling.

There is no set path through counselling. The way we work can evolve as your needs do.

You don’t have to put a label on what you’re feeling.

What I Can Help With

People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may recognise yourself in some of these experiences, or you may simply know that something doesn’t feel right. We can begin wherever you are.

Anxiety & Overwhelm

When worry, overthinking or difficult emotions begin to feel exhausting or hard to manage.

Relationship Difficulties

Exploring relationships, boundaries, communication and patterns that may keep repeating in your connections with others.

Addiction & Recovery

A space to explore addiction and recovery, alongside the thoughts, feelings and experiences that may be connected to them.

Past Experiences

Making sense of experiences from your past that may still be influencing how you feel, think or relate to others today.

Low mood & Self-Esteem

When you’re feeling low, disconnected from yourself, lacking confidence or struggling with how you see yourself.
